Integers and rational numbers are part of the real number system. Thus, the same properties used to multiply integers also apply when multiplying rational numbers.

I can find the product of two rational numbers. 

I can use multiplication rules to solve authentic problems. 

The same rules for multiplying integers apply to multiplying all rational numbers.

When multiplying two rational numbers:

- If the signs of the factors are the same, the product is positive.

- If the signs of the factors are different, the product is negative.
