The sign of a product is determined by the signs of the factors in a multiplication expression.

I can multiply positive and negative integers. 

I can use models to solve authentic problems with integers. 

When multiplying two integers, the sign of the product depends on the sign of the factors.

If the signs of the factors are the same, the product is positive.

7 × 3 = 21

-7 × (-3) = 21

If the signs of the factors are different, the product is negative.

-4 × 5 = -20

4 × (-5) = -20
